Barstool Founder Portnoy raises funds for NYPD executive Islamic families
Police are responding to reports of active shooters at Blackstone and NFL headquarters’ midtown Manhattan skyscrapers.
Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool sports, has launched a fundraising campaign In honor of NYPD executives Didalur Islam was fatally shot by Shane Tamra in a mass shooting in midtown Manhattan on Monday night.
Islamic officers served I’ve been to the police for four years. He was the father of two and had a third child along the way.
Portnoy shared a sincere message on social media and pledged to donate funds to Islamic families to match all the proceeds they earned from Barstool’s “Back the Blue” product.
To honor, the Islamic name and temple grounds have been added to the right sleeve of the apparel.

“Another tragic story that hits close to home,” Portnoy wrote in X’s post, promoting the apparel.
“It’s never a good thing to have to do these charities, but Islamic Officer Didalur leaves behind two boys and an eight-month pregnant wife. I’m going to make this week we will match all the proceeds and donate directly to our family,” he continued.
Authorities have identified the shooter as 27-year-old Shane Tamra, a licensed private investigator in Las Vegas, with past aspirations in professional football. Police say Tamura entered 345 Park Avenue, armed with an M4-style rifle, fired, and eventually headed to the office on the 33rd floor of Rudin Management before taking his own life.

Mayor Eric Adams confirmed Tuesday that Tamura had intended to target the NFL headquarters but accidentally went to another elevator bank in the building.
Barstool’s office is located in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, near 28th Avenue and Seventh Avenue, about 20 blocks west of the shooting range at 345 Park Avenue.
“This tragedy is especially hit close to home,” Portnoy said. “Barstool’s headquarters are in New York and the attack took place in the same building where Brady 4 once protested.”
Portnoy noted that the location of the attack retained personal importance to him. It was the same building that he and three colleagues once protested Tom Brady’s suspension in 2015.
Earlier this year, Portnoy released a video commemorating the 10th anniversary of the protest, including footage of him pushing security guards during a demonstration.

The death of an Islamic officer is the latest tragedy hitting the NYPD, but it is not the first time Portnoy has mobilized support for the Barstool in response to such losses.
2024, The company has grown roughly $240,000 for the family of NYPD executive Jonathan Diller. He was killed during a routine traffic stop in Queens. The campaign reflects Portnoy’s continued support for law enforcement and his belief in community-supported funding.
Officer Diller, 31, left behind a young widow, Stephanie and a 1-year-old son.
“Okay, I’m sure everyone saw the story,” Portnoy said in a video posted to his X and Tiktok accounts. “Tragic. New York City Police Officer, Jonathan Diller, The person who was murdered. The routine traffic stops pulled by two men, a million plyers, went in and out of prisons a million times, essentially setting him on fire. ”

Police have arrested the suspect who killed Diller, 34-year-old Guy Rivera.
“I know that money won’t cure this,” Portnoy added. “We can’t cure this, but there’s only the least we can do. myself, we have a long history of supporting police officers, supporting boys with blue and supporting first responders. You know, it’s tragic.
