Ronald Acuna Jr. heads to IL and admits he’s “worried” with his latest injury
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. returns to the injured list and admits he is “worried” after Achilles’ injury in his defeat to the Kansas City Royals last night.
The five-inning All-Star ACUNA missed most of last season and missed the start of this with a left ACL torn apart in the left ACL, but hit a .306 with 14 home runs and 26 RBIs in 55 games.
However, he will not play in the near future after experiencing tensions with right Achilles while chasing the ball on the right field.
Acuna didn’t want to take a break
Acuna later admitted that it was a concern and revealed that on Monday he was first to feel the issue running the base.
“That hurts even more,” Akna said after Tuesday’s 9-6 defeat. “I wanted them not to hit my path, and of course, whenever you did it, they would always hit it your way.
“I told them yesterday and everyone said, ‘If you want it, you can take a break.’
“I have already missed so many hours through my injuries and I didn’t want to miss any more.
“They are going to look into me tomorrow, so let’s see what happens.
“I’m worried. It’s more painful. When I try to put pressure on it, I feel a lot.”
Hopefully Acuna will return in 10 days – Snitker
This is the latest blow from the Braves’ side, sitting in 16 games, stepping into the 45-61 record behind the New York Mets in the National League East.
Manager Brian Snitker said:
“I was worried that it was diagonal in the way he responded there. I don’t know, it’s just one of them. You need to deal with it.
