David Zucker refuses to see Liam Neeson’s 2025 naked gun reboot

Director of the first two “Naked Guns” movies said he wouldn’t watch 2025 Reboot of his classic spoof series.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, filmmaker David Zucker declared he hadn’t seen the lead role of “The Naked Gun.” Liam Neesonthe whole concept of a “naked gun” reboot was original and unfolded.

“There’s no reason to see that,” he said.

“So, Jim Abrahams, if your daughter becomes a prostitute, will you go and see her work?” Zucker said elsewhere, citing the late co-director of “Airplane!”, co-director of another classic comedy Zucker.

The original “Naked Gun” director rips dems and predicts that people will look back at this era by saying “America is crazy.”

The director has made it clear that despite his harsh views on the 2025 “Naked Gun” reboot, he has no ill will towards the film’s cast, crew, Neeson or the producers. Seth MacFarlane – The creator of “Family Guy.”

“So Seth MacFarlane came in. He was a hugely successful producer and he came along with big star Liam Neeson. I have nothing against Liam Neeson. I think he’s a great actor.

“And the more, the way I approach the film isn’t to do the same thing over again. I didn’t even want to do ‘Naked Gun 3’. And someone else overseen it.

Zucker emphasized that instead of repackaging his original idea, he would have done something “something new” with another “naked gun.” The director said he filmed the potential idea for “Naked Gun 4” before Paramount Global Greenlight illuminated Neeson’s “Naked Gun.” They included a storyline as a spy, with police son Detective Frank Drevin (who was played in the original by actor Leslie Nielsen).

“(What?) Pat, Mike and I worked on for a year and it was about giving birth to Drevin’s son, but in fact his young son, 30 years old, not a LA cop scenario, but rather a “Mission Impossible,” James Bond, “Bone Identity,” an international spice thriller.

Zucker also told Fox News Digital that he didn’t want to give people the impression they wanted a boycott of the reboot, and called for media reports that seemed to be the case.

“I read that he says, ‘David Zucker is leading the boycott.’ I’m not leading the (boycott). All I said was that I wasn’t interested in seeing it. “He is the director of the new film, Akiba Shaffer“Super Nice Guy” who asked Zucker for advice on film with MacFarlane.

“But that’s not what I did, so there’s nothing I can do to help them,” he declared.

Elsewhere, he said, “It’s not the way I do movies, because I don’t want to copy other people’s work.”

Zucker told Fox News Digital that he believes the film industry as a whole is suffering from this lack of originality.

“Now, studio executives are scared most of the time, studio executives are scared. So, what you have now are big stars, superhero movies, big special effects, Tom Cruise movies,” he said, but he loved Tom Cruise movies.

He added that industry executives “play absolutely safe and they tend to chase after big producers and big stars.”

“But most people don’t have any new ideas. They want to copy old ideas like “Naked Gun 4.” It’s a really old copy of an idea. So being an older actor as a police detective is the idea of a 40 year old. ”

He didn’t direct the latest version of “The Naked Gun,” but Zucker is working hard on multiple projects, including the all-new original spoofing film “Star of Malta.”

The filmmaker described his upcoming film as “completely new.” He said, “It’s set in 1949. It’s going to look like one of the film noir films that took place from 1945 to 1955. It’s a really great story. And it’s an incredible story with a cast of young actors.

Offering tips on what audiences can expect from film comedy, he said, “That’s really what I say – it’s Spoofing 2.0. And that’s really the next thing.”

Zucker said it would be an indie release. That’s how big studios are opposed to recent original projects.

“If you want to do the original, you’ll need to use the indie route. “The Star of Malta” is only a $10 million budget. So you could do that. ”

Zucker also mentioned his other new projects.”Master Crash: Crash Course in Spoofing Comedy“The project is a 15-episode teaching web series that teaches viewers the 15-writing parody rules for filmmakers. The first episode of Master Crash, which debuted last month.

Filmmakers told Fox News Digital that they wanted to create a course because they wanted to know the “discipline” that budding comedy filmmakers and writers would have to decide to write classic spoofing and parody films for them to work.

“You know, it was crazy, weird and weird in every scene, but there was discipline in it,” he explained. “And that discipline must be a story that we tell, not just the general story we tell, but a story that we can believe in. And when I didn’t tell a story that we can believe in, with a character we can believe in, the film wasn’t that successful.”

“And also needs to have the knowledge you’ve gained on how to write jokes and how to direct them,” he said, adding, “There are many ways to do that.”
