Recent Meta New video editing app has been released For creators called editors. This new app is designed to rival Capcut by Bytedance, the popular short video editing app used by many creators.

Meta first shared that he was working on editing in January after the refund-owned capcut was removed from the US app store when the Tiktok ban came into effect instantly. The app can then be returned online and downloaded, but as Tiktok’s future in the US remains uncertain, Meta is ready to take advantage of the future Capcut absence with the new editing app.

How is editing different from CapCut?

Both editing and Capcut are great options for editing short videos, but there are some differences between the two services.

CapCut offers more robust editing options, including AI capabilities than editing. Of course, this is expected as the editing is much newer than Capcut. Meta is likely to continue building its editing over the next few months and years, so we expect to see more advanced features in the future. It is also worth noting that Capcut has a wider music library compared to editing.

Another difference is the fact that there is currently no subscription offering in the editing (for now), but Capcut is. CapCut offers a free version, but some of its advanced tools are locked behind paid subscriptions. Editing is free to use, but as an Instagram head, this may change in the future Adam Mosselli It states Versions after editing may include paid features.

Additionally, CapCut is available online, but editing is only available on mobile. However, this may change in the future.
