The upgrade is rumored to introduce Apple’s first in-house mobile modem, replacing Qualcomm’s technology, bringing Face ID to the SE lineup for the first time, and ultimately eliminates the physical home button. Devices with the same processor, the A18 chip, expected in the future, are set to support Apple’s AI-powered software suite. Apple Intelligencethis is the most advanced SE model ever.
With these updates, Apple is expanding its reach to those who have not yet switched to the iPhone, making SE a more attractive option, for those looking for premium features at a lower price.

Bloomberg said current iPhone SE stock levels are declining in stores, and product updates may be imminent. Some versions are still available online, while others will not ship until March.

The update came when Apple recently reported a 1% DIP to iPhone sales in the holiday quarter, and it didn’t meet expectations. The more advanced yet still affordable iPhone SE will help Apple compete in major markets such as China and India.
The iPhone SE now starts at $429 and is significantly lower than the $799 entry price for the iPhone 16.
