A pan reminiscent of “glass fragments”: FDA

Emergency recall According to a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warning, it is issued for bread brands sold throughout the United States that may contain “glass fragments.”
The department issued an urgent warning for certain breads, which are part of the Upper Crust Bakery LP, which found to have “splits of glass on top of the bread.”
According to the FDA, the rolls were sold at retail levels in Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Ohio.

Bread types included in Remail is included:
- Ancient Grain Hoaggi Roll in a 4-ounce Container, Recall Number: F-0741-2025 in lot #90
- 18 oz container multigrain sourdough roll, recall number: F-0742-2025 in lot #90
- Whole Grain Multigrain Roll in a 20-ounce container, Recall Number: F-0743-2025 in lot #92
All three products are packaged in corrugated paper cartons and sold frozen.
In total, the FDA said 818 upper crust bakery pan cases are suspected of stuffing pieces of glass, including 699 cases of the company’s 18-ounce multigrain sourdough package, the largest portion of the recall.

The agency has 89 cases of 4oz ancient grains, Hoagie Rolls and 30 cases of 20oz Whole grain multigrain bread It was also included in the recall.
Maryland-based bakery The agency was first notified on April 12, the FDA said in a announcement.
The FDA noted that the incident has been raised to a Class II recall. This means that while the product can cause temporary or medically reversible health issues, it is unlikely to lead to serious long-term injuries.

The agency said ingesting glass pieces can cause damage to consumers. This can include tooth damage, mouth lacerations, throat lacerations, or intestinal perforations. It also poses a dangerous threat of choking.

Only class 1 FDA recalls are more urgent, and the agency says it is “the most serious type.” This is because it can lead to more serious health issues, including death. However, according to the FDA, that type of recall is not linked to the packaging pan.

The FDA said anyone who purchases recalled rolls should not eat them, and should either throw them in a safe trash bin or return them to where they purchased for a full refund.
It is unclear whether injuries have been reported due to glass shards, but FOX Business has contacted the FDA and Upper Crust Bakery LP for more details.
