A Texas man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for stalking Caitlin Clark

Michael Lewis, 55, from Texas, has been sentenced to more than 18 months after pleading guilty to stalking and harassing the Indiana Fever superstar Kate Rinklerk.
Lewis was arrested in January for AN Indianapolis Hotel And he was charged with felony stalking, allegedly sending threats and violent messages to Clark on social media, on a court record.
Lewis’s sentence includes time provided at the Marion County Adult Detention Center.

“This resolution ensures that the defendant is responsible for his threatening behavior, the fear he soaked, and the confusion he caused,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. wthr ch. 13 In Indianapolis following Lewis’ sentence. “He’s now spending the next two and a half years at the Department of Corrections and the victim will be able to feel at ease while focusing on what’s important to her.”
Lewis is to avoid contact with Clark or to stay away from the heat, or Indiana Pacers Game and team properties are not to use the internet as part of his statement per WTHR.

He also recommended getting mental health treatment.
“You can’t help yourself until you get help,” the judge told Lewis.
Lewis had been sending Clark’s messages through his X account. He also sent it saying he had purchased tickets for the game just behind the bench.

“They said I was sending threatening texts. But the only (sic) in my mind was….caitliiiiiiiiiinnnnn,” read another message to Clark.
Clark told authorities that Lewis was afraid of her safety before entering Indianapolis, adding that she would change her appearance before going out to public.
When he asked about the message on January 8th, Lewis told police he was going to Indianapolis for his leave, and reportedly downplayed the number of messages he sent to Clark. He added that it was “fantasy type” and “joking.”

“It takes a lot of courage for a woman to come forward in these cases, so many people don’t,” Lewis said when he was arrested via Fox 59.
