New aerial video footage released by New York City Police (NYPD) The tour helicopter showed the moment it crashed into the Hudson River last week, killing six people, including three children.

An aerial video in the April 10 response shows a diver jumping into muddy water from a NYPD boat and walking towards a broken aircraft.

At a press conference Wednesday, officials said the NYPD diving unit was searching for missing people in the river. Jersey City, New Jersey Coastline.

“I got a call so I headed for a helicopter crash as quickly as possible,” said Joseph Frebola, executive director of the NYPD Scuba division. “We were there in about 8-10 minutes.”

Although weather conditions during rescue were unfavourable, Flebora said the team is focusing on finding the aircraft tail and main rotors to assist in the investigation.

“The current had been turned over, but (weather conditions were pretty bad,” he said. “We were level and we had a helicopter grip and we were equipped to connect it to the crane.”

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) The aircraft announced on Saturday is not equipped with flight recorders and many questions have not been answered.

No onboard video or camera recorders were recovered, and no information on helicopter avionics could be used by authorities to determine the cause of the crash.

According to the NTSB, divers were able to find major fuselages, including the cockpit and cabin, the front part of the tail boom, horizontal stabilizer finlets and vertical fins.

Investigators continue to search for the wreckage using side scan sonar.

Helicopter operator, new york Helicopter Charter Inc. reported that the aircraft was last inspected on March 1st and completed seven tour flights before the shipwreck.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
