After Auburn survived, the historic No. 1 seed final faucet


All the teams that participated in 2005 NCAA Men’s Tournament Top seed will be played at San Antonio’s Final Four.

All four No. 1 seeds in the bracket are rare to reach the Final Four. It’s been 17 years since it first happened in tournament history. By chance, San Antonio was also a host city. North CarolinaKansas, UCLA and Memphis competed in the semi-finals in 2008.

No. 1 Auburn faced Atlanta’s second-seeded Michigan Spartan on Sunday evening, finishing his second top-seeded sweep in March’s crazy history.

Early Sunday, No. 1 Houston routed Tennessee In Indianapolis, they will punch tickets for the semi-finals. On Saturday, top-seeded Florida postponed Texas Tech 3rd to advance to Final Four. Duke then took care of the business against Alabama.

It’s not the first ever omg. One-seeded Final Four seeded Kansas defeated North Carolina, while Memphis eliminated UCLA in 2008. Darrell Arthur’s 20 points led the Jay Hawks, with star guard Mario Chalmers adding 18 points to bring Kansas to a 75-68 victory to Memphis, winning the national title.

More than a year after the arrival of the Tigers’ championship game, the NCAA Violation Committee announced that Memphis will be forced to clear the 2007-08 record for violations of the rules. Memphis also had three years of probation. The punishment was attributed to Derrick Rose’s investigation and his eligibility.

In a pair of Sec Foes matchups, Florida and Auburn meet in the first game of the two semi-finals. The game is followed by Houston and Duke.

The winners of each of these contests advance to the National Championship Game. The final four begin on April 5th at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
