Amazon is working on AI code generation tools
Amazon Web Services is building codenames for the new AI-powered code generation tool, “Kiro.” Business Insider It was reported citing internal documents seen.
The tool can connect to an AI agent to generate code “nearly real-time” using prompts and existing data, the report says. The tool is said to have web and desktop apps, multimodal features, and can be configured to work with third-party AI agents, Business Insider reported.
Kiro can also create technical design documents, flag potential issues, and optimize code, the report says.
The company already has AI-powered coding QAn assistant called developersimilar to Github Copilot. Amazon was pondering about firing Kiro towards the end of June, but those plans may have changed, Business Insider reported.
