Antony scores again as Manchester United Outcasts continue to thrive in Spain
Antony admits he loves life away from Manchester United after providing another man’s match display for Real Betis last night.
The highly misused Brazilian won one and created the other as Betis took Real Sociedad 3-0 in Seville and rose to eighth place in Laliga.
After the cage in the first half, Antony’s left-footed volley gave the lead to the home side, and Mark Loca also set up on one of the midfielders’ two goals as Betis finally ran through a comfortable winner.

He said: “We’re really happy with today’s game. We knew that winning was really important, and we’ll continue to regain confidence.”
Antony spent a miserable time at United after making a £80 million move from Ajax in August 2022. The 24-year-old was unable to make an impact and was unfairly cast as a poster boy due to the club’s struggle under Eric Teng Hug.
The move towards Betis has stimulated the winger and he enjoys his time in Spain.
He added: “I think the most important thing is to be happy. I’m really happy, like I said before. I’m really happy that you got a team and helped us. We’ve continued like this. It’s there.”

Antony currently scores three goals in Betis’ four games, but hasn’t targeted himself other than enjoying football again.
He said: “I don’t set goal numbers. I work hard every day. I’m really focused, I’m really happy here and I enjoy every day.”
