Arsenal v Tottenham: lineup, statistics, preview
Arsenal in Tottenham Preview
One of the oldest and most intense rivals in British football will unfold in the Far East tomorrow when Arsenal and Tottenham meet in Hong Kong.
It may be pre-season friendly, but neither side would want to lose to its North London neighbours and should be a fierce opportunity at Kaitach Stadium.
The pre-match tributes flow both ways with new Spurs boss Thomas Frank, who describes Arsenal as “one of the best teams in the world.”
Dane added: “It would be a big test if I did that, but not only was it friendly against Arsenal, it’s more than just a test. Of course, it’s the best game I can to win.”
Frank didn’t have much time to implement his idea after Ange Postecoglou in the Spurs, but Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is intrigued to see how the former Brentford manager will get the fare.
He said: “I have great respect for Thomas Frank, and I think we need to start looking at the direction he takes with the team, and focus on his vision, his philosophy and of course what we want to do, accomplish.
Arsenal has won two previous preseason games in the Far East against AC Milan and Newcastle, and Arteta is excited to face off against spurs in foreign soil.
He added:
“We’re raising the level of competition again to prepare us, it’s a different challenge from the game and they’re sure 50,000 people will be so loud and passionate in this incredible stadium, so I think it’s an opportunity for everyone to feel it because they can raise the level of competition again.”
Arsenal of Tottenham Team News
Arsenal will decide tonight whether striker Victor Gyoker will be handed over his debut.
Gabriel Jesus remains on the bystander while it is unlikely that Riccardo Carafioli will be at risk after maintaining muscle damage to Newcastle.
Max Douman, 15, will start on the bench again.
Tottenham playmaker James Madison was able to return to full training after suffering a knee injury at the end of last season and line up alongside Dominique Solanke. I missed a match against Wycombe last weekend and read it as a precaution.
Destiny Udogie, Kota Takai, Manor Solomon, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski and Bryan Gil have not traveled to the Far East due to injuries.

Arsenal v Tottenham prediction
Arsenal appears to be a bit ahead in preparations that make the Spurs’ two teams seem rather unimpressive in the match last weekend.
If Gyoker debuts, it should require an additional edge for Arsenal.
