Arteta claims nine teams can win Premier League titles next season
Mikel Arteta believes that the Premier League title race next season will be one of the most competitive to date, and the maximum nine clubs that can claim the trophy.
Despite the fierce competition, the Arsenal manager is sure there is the “right material” that his side goes all the way.
Arsenal has finished runner-up in the league over the past three seasons, but is active in the transfer market to ultimately earn the top spot.
So far, the club has spent more than £120 million on bins of Malvikendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgado and Kepa Arizabaraga.
More additions are expected, with Arsenal currently offering advanced talks to sign Valencia Sports CP and Christian Mosquera’s Viktor Gyoker.
Speaking from Singapore ahead of Arsenal’s preseason opening game against AC Milan, Arteta acknowledged the quality of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta: “The league has 6, 7, 8 clubs with the right materials to win, and there will be only one winner.”

“The problem is that the league has another 6, 7, 8 clubs with the right materials to win, and there’s only one winner. So we have to focus a lot on what we can and can do to achieve what we want at the end of the season.”
When asked if he believed Arsenal could ultimately take the final step and become a champion, Arteta replied.
“But we are also very active in the market. We need to improve the players we already have, which are the big goals afterwards. And we will set up the right funds and the right principles before the season to prepare our team in the best possible form and availability to start the season.”
He also highlighted the team’s hunger and determination following last season’s near misses.
“We know we are very close now with two big competitions. We just want to take the next step. There are so many details and moments that we have to go down our path.
