Austria suffers another day of motivational attack after Vance’s Munich speech

The stab wounds at Villach on Saturday marked what is considered Austria’s second deadly Islamic terrorist attack in recent years. In November 2020, a man who had previously tried to join the Islamic State went on a rampage in Vienna, armed with an automatic rifle and a fake explosive vest, killing four people before being fatally injured by police. Last August, Austrian authorities said they had hampered an attack planned by a teenager who allegedly sworn allegiance to IS at a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.
