Blackstone, NFL, Rudin responds to fatal New York City office tower shooting
New York City Mayor Eric Adams and officials share the latest updates on the shootings in midtown Manhattan.
Following the fatal shooting at 345 Park Avenue in New York City, the companies closest to the tragedy moved to support their employees after taking the lives of four innocent people, including NYPD executive Didalle Islam.
Private equity firm Blackstone announced the death of his colleague Wesley Repatner in a note to staff.
“Our colleague Wesley Repatner is heartbroken by sharing that he is among those who lost their lives in the tragic incident at 345 Park Avenue. Words cannot describe the devastation we feel. Wesley is a beloved member of the Blackstone family and writes in a statement obtained by the Fox Business.
According to her company Bio, the married mother of two young children was the world leader of Core+ Real Estate and the CEO of the Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust (BREIT).

Lepatner was shot when he left the building after 6pm by a killer Shane Tamra, whom he was in Carry the M4 assault rifle.
He drove cross-country from Nevada and entered New York City on Monday via New Jersey. Las Vegas law enforcement has revealed the history of mental illness.

Rudin Management, which owns 345 Park Avenue in New York and numerous other trophy buildings, also lost a young worker after Tamura accidentally went to the 33rd floor, New York City Mayor Adams revealed in an interview.

“Rudin’s family and everyone in our company are devastated by the pointless tragedy of yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with people who were injured and lost last night, including our precious Ruudin colleagues, brave New York City police officers, beloved lobby security guards, and tenant employees,” the company said.
“We are grateful for the prompt and courageous action of the NYPD, FBI, EMS and several other emergency responders. We would also like to thank the mayor and the police chief leaders. The building remains closed today as authorities continue to investigate.
Rudin refused to name the victim at the family’s request, a spokesman told Fox Business.

NFL workersthe person operating from the third floor was told to work from home or take time off, according to a memo from Commissioner Roger Goodell, who noted that one employee remained hospitalized.

As widely reported, the gunman committed unspeakable acts of violence in the 345 Park Avenue building. One of our employees was seriously injured in the attack. He is currently in the hospital and is in stable condition. The NFL staff are in the hospital and we are supporting his family.
We believe that all of our employees are otherwise safe, explained and the building is nearly clear.
We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded quickly and decisively to this threat, and to the Islamic officers who gave their lives to protect others.

Tamura, a high school football player at Granada Hills Charter in Granada Hills, California, has shown that he suffers from chronic traumatic encephalopathy or CTE.

A representative from KPMG, which counts its office tower as one of its Manhattan locations, told Fox Business: “We have confirmed that the 345 Park Avenue Office is closed today, giving employees the flexibility to work from home. As of Tuesday, there has been no decision on the timing of the office reopening.
Additionally, KPMG CEO Tim Walsh and Vice-Chair Atif Zaim expressed their sadness on LinkedIn.
“There was a shooting yesterday at 345 Park Avenue in New York City, the building where KPMG holds an office along with other companies.
Our hearts lie in this horrifying act, the victims of his family, and all of our neighbors at 345 Park. This was a terrible, tragic and terrifying event. We are extremely grateful for the courage to build security and law enforcement. At this time, we are not aware of any serious physical injuries to our KPMG colleagues.
