Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero JR is set to hit free agency in late 2025
Toronto Blue Jays Star baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. disagreed with a long-term contract extension on Monday.
Guerrero, 25, set a deadline Monday night for both parties to agree to a deal as the star’s first baseman is not planning on negotiating a deal during the season.
Guerrero said No transactions were made due to lack of effort.

“In the last few days, the front office, my lawyer, my agent, they met, tried both (sides), but obviously we couldn’t get an agreement,” Guerrero said on Tuesday. He spoke through an interpreter at Jay’s Camp.
“We didn’t get to where we wanted to do the deal.”
Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said the team is still hoping Guerrero will return despite the deal not closing.

“We worked very hard and the motivation is still there,” Atkins said.
“I’m sure every thought we had, every dollar we had — was passed on, but we are clearly disappointed that we didn’t accomplish that.” ..It doesn’t change our desires. It keeps us motivated and motivated.”
Guerrero has an impressive season when he hit .323 with 30 home runs and 103 RBIs in 159 games.

If the four All-Stars repeat these numbers this season, he Top Free Agent This year’s class.
If the Blue Jays struggle at the beginning of the season, the team could aim to trade Guerrero at the trade deadline to recover some assets instead of losing anything at the free agency.
