Boxing Results: Duarte stops Maduino with Slugfest
Oscar Duarte knocked out former WBO Latino champion “explosion” Madueno in the seventh round of the real slugfest at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Saturday night. In his co-starring, Super Middleweight Darius’ DFG’ Fulghum stopped Wilfred Harris Jr. in the fourth round.
Duarte, 29-2-1 (23) stopped Miguel’s “explosion” Madueno, 31-4 (28) at 2:09 in the seventh round of the scheduled 12th round.
In the first round, both had moments. In the second round, the late Sub Madueno held himself in the Slugfest. In the third round, Duarte landed a nearby but low punch. Madueno didn’t fight back enough and moved the entire ring. In the fourth round, Duarte rocked Madueno with a left hook on his chin, but left the house from the hook.
In the final minute of the fifth round, Duarte cut Madueno’s left eyebrow, causing an actual Slugfest. In the sixth round, for the later sub, Madueno held himself, but took another round except. In the seventh round, Durability launched Madueno, with referee Thomas Taylor intervening and calling for a halt.
Co-starring Super Middleweight, #5 WBA, Darius ‘DFG’ Fulghum, 14-0 (12) stopped Wilfred Harris Jr., 22-3-2 (10) at 2:18 in the fourth round. Ta. Scheduled 10 rounds.
In the first round, neither was impressive and there was too much retention. In the second round, a jab followed by Fulghum’s jaw right and dropped Harris for an eight count from umpire Raycorona. In the third round, Fulghum hurt Harris early, but Harris managed to get through the round. Before the start of the next round, Ref Corona had the Ring doctor check on Harris.
In the fourth round, Fulghum hurt Harris and didn’t adequately protect himself when Levcorona finally stopped and stopped.
WBC Silver Flyweight Champion Riccardo ‘El Niño’ Sandoval, 26-2 (18) defeated NABF Flying Champion Saleto ‘Mr.’ Henderson, 10-2 (7) unanimous decision in the 10th round.
In the first round, short Henderson showed his affordable hand and hugged himself against the favourite Sandoval. From the second to the sixth round, Sandoval had the edge as the much smaller Henderson was far better than expected.
In the seventh round, both had moments. The crowd is because of Sandoval, who had to work harder than expected against the much less experienced Henderson. Sandoval had a small cut in his left eyebrow. In the ninth round, Henderson was still in the fight against all possibilities. In the 10th final round, Sandoval won the fight, but Henderson was hanging there, hoping for a halt.
The scores were 98-92, 100-90, and 100-90.
Welterweight Ken “Bossman” Sims, Junior, 22-2-1 (8) has been unanimously decided in a 10-round biased battle that appears to be highly competitive, and Kendo “Tremendo” Castaneda, 21-8 I defeated (9).
In the second round, Sims went to the body and became a southpaw, winning another close round. In the fourth round, Sims injured Castaneda with his right hand on his body. Castaneda finished the round from the southpaw and landed four unanswered right hooks on the head of Sims.
Both went to the body in the sixth round as Sims continued to land further, but Castaneda did not stop him from moving forward. In the seventh round, Castaneda hurt Sims and paired with Midway’s Chin, it was a good round for fans.
Castaneda finished strong late in the seventh and eighth rounds, continuing his third round. The 10th and final rounds were the best rounds of the fight, and both concluded it all. Castaneda landed six left hooks in the final seconds of the Sim’s head.
The judge was Reicorona. Scores 98-92, 99-91, and 99-91 were Sims, Jr. It seemed too much for me.
Welterweight Joel Irialte, 6-0 (6) stopped Daniel Harris, 19-24-2 (14) at 1:21 in the second round of the scheduled sixth round.
In the first round, Irialte landed a final chopping and three-punch combination on Harris’ head, dropping him for an eight count from umpire Ray Almendaris just before the bell against Harris’ late sub. . In the second round, at midway point, Irialte landed a left uppercut on his chin, knocking Harris on the ropes and dropping Harris into the corner as umpire Amendalis swung from a mismatch.
Cruiserweight Jaa Garraldo, 8-0 (7) knocked out Carlos’ Pruta ‘Miranda, 7-2 (3) at 1:41 in the first round of the scheduled eighth round.
In the first round, Garard landed an uppercut on his chin, then umpire Thomas Taylor counted him and dropped Miranda, followed by several more punches in his body.
Lightweight Daniel “Junebug” Garcia, 11-0 (9) knocked out Francisco Pacheco, 7-4-2) at 2:40 in the third round of the scheduled sixth round.
In the first round, a head collision was cut into the top of Pacheco’s head. In the second round, Garcia drew blood from Pacheco’s nose with his right hand. In the third round, a nosebleed continued as Garcia left Pacheco, dropping him to the left as umpire Reikorona counted him on her lap.
Super bantamweight southpoe frog “Elterolista” Cabrera, 7-0 (4), defeated Roberto “Escorpion” Puffta, 14-26-3 (8) with a sixth round decision.
In the first four rounds, Cabrera covered Pucheta, the invader. In his sixth final round, the 20-year-old remained undefeated, taking all six rounds.
The scores were 60-54, 60-54, and 60-54.
Middleweight Fabian Guzman, 6-0 (6), defeated Daniel Lim, 11-3 (3) with a sixth round decision.
The ultra-lightweight Javier Meza (2-0, 2 KOs) knocked out Lyle MacFarlane (3-7, 1 KOs) at 2:15 in the second round of the scheduled four rounds.
Mezza launched MacFarlane in the second round and stopped referee Raymond Almendaris.
Bantamweight Kevin Gudino (2-0 (2) stopped Kenario Davidson (1-2) at 0:35 in the third round of the scheduled four-round match.
In the third round, the Gudino combination dropped Davidson and forced umpire Chris Leben to drive it away.
The ring announcer was Mark Flat.
