Boxing Results: Hitchins Kos Kambosos Jr. ;Cruz stops Mishiro in a lightweight eliminator match

IBF World Super Lightweight Champion Richardson Hitchins (20-0, 8 KOS) stopped former IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight champion George “Furthest” Cambosos (22-4, 10 KOs) at the final moments of Saturday night at the theatre in Madison Square, New York. The fight stopped at 2:33 in the eighth round of the scheduled 12th round.

In the first three rounds, Cambosos was an attacker, trying to get inside along with the jab, and was countered by the Hitchens. In the fourth round, Cambosos had a welt under the eyes of the fight from the Hitchens jab. In the fifth round, Hitchens was behind Cambosos throughout the round.

At midway point in the sixth round, Cambosos drew blood from Hitchens’ mouth. In the seventh round it was all the Hitchens until the final seconds when tough Cambosos landed a few punches on Hitchens’ chin. In the final minute of the eighth round, a left hook from Hitchens to his body hurt Cambosos and dropped him in 40 seconds. Judge Michael Griffin called for a halt.

In the Chief Support Match, 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist and current IBF International Lightweight Champion Andy Cruz (6-0, 3 KOs) was impressed to stop tough Japanese Lightweight Champion Shimajima (17-2-1, 6 KOs) at 1:13 in the fifth round of the 12th round, scheduled for the IBF Light Tier Liminator Boot.

In the first round, most of the time they traded jabs with attacker Mishiro. He landed a solid in Cruz’s jaw in the last few seconds. In the second round, Cruz drew blood from Mishiro’s mouth early in the round.

In the third round, Cruz scored a knockdown with a ton of punches in Mishiro’s head for an eight count from umpire Eric Dali. In the final seconds of the round, Cruz dropped Misilo again, dropping several punches to Bell’s head for an eighth count.

In the fourth round of Midway, Cruz landed 10 unanswered punches. Mishiro returned through the battle. The Ring doctor checked Misilo during the round. In the fifth round, Cruise landed a pack of punches and almost got a knockdown when Judge Dali stopped wisely. Cruz is currently being trained in Philadelphia by “Bosie” Ennis.

Superweight Weight Southpaw 2024 Olympian Nishant “Davistator” developer (2-0, 1 KO) defeated Joshua “Mama” Silva (3-2, 1 KO) by a six-round decision.

In the first three rounds, Dev ruled. In the fourth round, Dev hurt Silver with a body shot. In the fifth round of the game, Silva took another round.

In the sixth final round, Dev won another round against tough Silva.

The scores were 60-54 and 60-54. David Fields was a judge.

Super Featherweight South Posakin ‘Zaibop’ Moses (4-0, 3 KOS) stopped Carl “Cyclone” Rodgers (3-3) at 1:51 in the fourth and final round.

In the second round, Moses reached the round with Rogers turned left onto his body with a left hook. Rogers became a southpaw along the way. In the third round, Moses landed a half-dozen unanswered punches before descending from Judge Eric Dali for an eight count. In the fourth and final round, Moses dropped Rogers with a half-dozen punches. Upon standing, Moses was everywhere he was, landing four punches until Judge Dali called for a halt.

In the second half of the match, 2024 heavyweight Olympian Telemoana “Tebero” Telemoana (8-0, 8 KOS) knocked out Alem “Hammer” Whitfield (9-1, KOS) at 2:28 in the first round of the scheduled sixth.

In the first round, Whitfield returned nine years later, recording a pair of wins and giving up a six-inch to Telemoana.

Super bantamweight Adam ‘The Mac’ Mac (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out Rafael “Elterable” Castillo (2-7, 1 KO) at 1:29 of the scheduled four rounds.

In the first round, Maka dominated most of the time, finishing a round throw in the second round without warning from umpire Arthur Mercante Jr., Maka landed three left hooks midway through the body with a few more punches before referee Marcante swung from the match.
