Henderson – A simple decision to sign Andrews
Andrews told the club’s official website:
“We did due diligence on his recent game and saw where he was. He’s still a phenomenal fit, he’s still incredibly motivated to achieve things in the game and has already achieved a lot.
“It was important to replace it with experienced players who never leave the building, Christian Norgaard, Mark Frecken, Ben Mee.
“Overall, there are pretty young teams and a lot of club experiences like Vitaly Janelt, Mathias Jensen, Ethan Pinnock and Josh Dasilva.
“But what Jordan brings is that he was one of the most influential leaders of the modern Premier League year. He is on the forefront of driving for the title and Champions League at a great football club.
“He also has experience at the international level with England, and with that there is a level of experience, professionalism and dedication to his profession, that is the exact way we want as a football club.
“He’s pushing the standards and making a great addition to the team.”
Henderson has had a great experience as he hopes to play for England in the World Cup.
Henderson started at Sunderland before joining Liverpool in 2011, overcoming difficult starts to become captain, achieving success in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
He chose to leave Anfield in 2023 for the wealth of the Saudi Arabian Pro League and Al Ettifak.
He endured a miserable six-month spell in the Middle East and linked with Ajax in January 2024. He should have won the Eredivisy title in his only full season in Amsterdam, but Ajax blew a nine-point lead at the top of the table in six games pips to PSV Eindhoven.
Henderson still hopes to play in the World Cup next summer, and was recalled to the England team in March by Thomas Tuschel.
