Brian Norman Sr. smacks Jaron Ennis for a lack of a big fight: “Boots” avoids top candidates?
Brian Norman Sr. destroyed Jaron “Boots” Ennis for not fighting a major battle during his 35-fight career. He points out that his son, WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr., is about to have his first big fight against Devin Haney on November 22nd.
Ennis’s big battle lack
Norman Jr., 24, is four years younger than Boots Ennis, 28, and he’s already outperformed him. He sees it as a lack of ambition.
“I want to fight all the names. Teofimo? I’ll fight him with a heartbeat,” trainer Brian Norman Sr. said. Millcity BoxingI’ll talk about Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. “He wants to fight all the big names, but he hasn’t fought big names yet. We’re trying to fight big names (Devin Haney) before he fights celebrities. He’s got 35 fights.”
Norman Jr. is also paying attention to the same thing about the boot ennis that many fans have. He is not making the big fight offered to him, he is thinking of excuses. I didn’t want to stay at 147 to compete with Norman Jr. When his promoter Eddie Hearn didn’t want to increase the offer from $1.7 million to $2.2 million to get the Norman Junior Unification fight in 2024, he was able to sweeten the pot with a portion of his money. A tune-up battle.
“He’s 28 years old. We signed up for the third fight this year, but he only fought against it. He didn’t want to wait for anyone. “What are you waiting for? They don’t say anything so we managed to find a way to spin it. The guy (Ennis) doesn’t talk much, but when he does, it’s not consistent.”
Did you change the “boots” Ennis for money?
Boots Ennis initially seemed ambitious in his career and wanted to accomplish a lot. Something has changed for him. He refuses to fight left and right, and now he’s fighting left and right. Was that the money he made? Ennis is now a billionaire, and is a life-or-life fit, and may not be able to feel the same hunger he once had before he became wealthy.
“We’re trying to get this to an end,” Norman Sr. said of Devin Haney. “They are looking for reasons (to get out of the fight), and don’t give them a reason,” Norman Sr. said of the VADA test.
It’s good that Norman Jr. realizes he needs to follow Bill and Devin’s instructions to start the VADA test right now. They couldn’t afford to take their risks using this as an excuse to get out of the fight. Many fans believe Honey didn’t want this fight in the first place, and they’re looking for every reason to get out of it.
“Even though he hasn’t made any money for Devin Haney yet, now $1.7 (million) sounds very low,” Norman Sr. said, comparing the offers given by Boot Ennis promoter Eddie Hearn in the Battle of Unification last year.
Norman Jr. needs to suit him to do so if he wants to win this fight with Haney and earn a nice payday at Riyadh’s seasonal event. If Brian Jr. looks sensational in the victory, he will likely be invited to other events of Turki Arrahiv. A win knocked out by Honey is something he needs.
“When I heard 1.7, I just laugh. Now it was supposed to be 1.7 or higher. Compare that to what non-champion Devin Haney is getting now. The fight (boots ennis) was worth over $1.7 million.”
It will be interesting to see how much Norman Jr. is being paid for the title defense against Haney on November 22nd. With Brian Sr. talking like him, he appears to have gotten a huge wallet that is far greater than the offer made by Hearn last year.
Hearn’s lowball ennis offer
It’s hard to believe now that Hearn has only offered WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. $1.7 million for a unified match against Boots Ennis. He didn’t hit the offer at $2.2 million. Khan’s pockets are not as deep as Tulki Aralsif.
Still, it’s surprising that Hearn was willing to invest in boots to make him a more popular fighter. He needed that unified battle, as he lacked charisma to sell his fights outside the ring along with his character.
