California Republican Michelle Steel doesn’t want a home revival

Former California Republican Rep. Michelle Steele is not seeking another term in Congress.
The Republican, who lost just over 600 votes to Rep. Derek Tran after serving two terms in the House in November, said he is pursuing other political goals.
“I have other goals. And I have been appointed by Chairman Mike Johnson to that Asian American coalition, so I want to help Asian Americans in this country,” said a Republican sitting on the board of directors of the Lincoln Club.
“No one is excited about the potential governor’s run of Kamala Harris, says the California donor.

Her decision not to run could open the door to a competitive Republican primary and multi-million-dollar general election race in 2026.
“I can serve much better (together) what I do now,” she said, denying the possibility of seeking another elected office.
Steel, together Senator Young Kim And Marilyn Strickland was the first Korean-American woman in Congress, and Steel is the first generation of Americans. Steel said funding and connections with the district’s various ethnic communities are key to Republicans trying to win seats, and mostly “first generation” like her.

“I have a complete understanding of what they have to go through as a first generation, so that’s really important. You have to ask exactly what you’re looking for to go through the community and settle in America, and this is a great country.

Steel was also called out Anti-ice emotions In California, people are misunderstanding the fundamental issues associated with illegal immigration by democrats.
“People were blaming me, ‘You’re a first generation immigrant, and then you’re actually trying to abuse and arrest the first generation,” I said, ‘No, this is the illegal criminal we’re talking about.’ And you think they are actually committing very dangerous people if they are arrested and they are not deported.
“And I know that President Trump is doing a great job deporting these criminals, and that’s what we have to do to ensure America’s security.

“we Especially the first generation and you know I’ve mostly heard calls from outside of this country, so you really need to give a better message. They said, “Oh my God, they arrested all these immigrants, and even citizens.” I said, “It’s not really true. When they commit serious crimes, yes, it’s for safety, and you know, for the safety of Americans. That’s why we’re doing it.”
Her decision is due to the possibility that California Gov. Gavin Newsom will rezone in Golden State to block potential Texas Republican interests.
“The two can play this game,” he posted on X July 15th.

“I read this morning that all Democrats are coming to California and all Republicans are leaving. You know, they have to look at this deal exactly what is useful for Californians. California is a very beautiful state. And I live in California. I still want to save California,” Steele said.

“She doesn’t understand. He doesn’t understand exactly what they have to do to make California better,” she said. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Newsom.
“So I really want to stop them being hurt. I hope that not just California, but the people in California are very opposed to these politicians. I hope that Republicans will win next year’s election because they’ve already hit the bottom.”
