Cambossos beat Willie and Brown committed Sydney’s victory over Nicholson
“Furthy” George Cambosos Jr. defeated late Australian super lightweight champion Jake Willie with a 12-round unanimous decision in the Saturday night’s main event at Kudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
In her co-star, WBC World Women’s Featherweight Champion Sky Nicholson lost the title of Tiara “Dark Menace” Brown by a 10-round split decision.
Former IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO World Lightweight Champions Kambosos, Jr., 22-3(10) Wyllie, 16-2(15) defeated 16-2(15) with a competitive 12-round unanimous decision.
In the first three rounds, Cambossos had the upper hand. In the fifth round, Willie had a moment in favour of Cambosus. From sixth to ninth, Willie fought well, but Cambosos had the advantage.
In the 11th round, Wyllie learns he was behind in the fight and tries to catch up with Kambosos, who showcases his toughness. In the 12th and final round, Cambosos threw Willie onto the canvas. Most of the time, Cambosos tried to avoid a head collision, knowing he had won with his bag. Early in the upcoming battle, it was Cambosos who was cut off on his right brow and above his left eye.

2020 Olympian, WBC World Women’s Featherweight Champion Nicholson, 12-1 (1) lost in a 10-round split decision to Brown, 19-0 (11). Brown was the attacker in the first five rounds and had the advantage in a close fight. Nicholson kept it well in the final five rounds, even at least even.
The judges scored 96-94 for Brown, 97-93 and 96-94 for Nicholson. Joel Scobie was a judge.
WBA World Women’s Bantamweight Champion Cherneka “Sugarnekus” Johnson, 17-2 (6) passed former WBA champion Nina Hughes, 6-2 (2) at 0:46 in the seventh round of the 10×2 round.
In the third round, Hughes suffered a bloody nose due to a head crash. From the fourth to sixth, Johnson ruled. In the seventh round, Hughes was warned that his corner was held when he threw the towel. Raphael Ramos was a judge.
2016 Russian Bronze Olympian, NABF Light Heavyweight Champion Imam Khataev, 10-0 (9), defeated Durval “El Bombardero” Elias Palacio, 14-4 (11) with a 10th round unanimous decision.
In the first three rounds, Khataev ruled. In the fourth round, D Palacio drove Kataev to the corner. Later in the round, Kataev dropped Palacio to the right above his chin and made an eight count from referee Ignatius Mithridis. Palacio was amputated with her left eyelid. Palacio fought back with the ninth and tenth most hearts.
Scores 99-89, 99-89, and 98-90. Ignatius Mithridis was a judge.
Heavyweight Hemi ‘The Heat’ Ahio, 24-1 (18) knocked out Aekkaphob Auraiwan, 9-4-1 (7) at 2:59 in the first round of the scheduled 10 round match. Will Souris was a judge.
2024 heavyweight Olympian Telemoana JNR, 7-0 (7) beat James “Beast” Singh, 12-6 (11) with the first round knockout of a scheduled six-round match. The official time for the suspension was 2:12 in the first round.
In the first round, Telemoana dropped Singh to the left on his chin for an eight count from umpire Ignatius Mithridis. Upon rising, Singh met a half dozen punches from Telemoana when the judge Mithridis called a halt.
The ultra-lightweight Jaydenboon, 4-0 (3) beat Jordan Casilieris, 1-4-1 (1) with a unanimous decision in the fourth round. The scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37. Ignatius Mithridis was a judge.
