Can Madrimov finish what Bohachuk started against Ortiz Jr.?
Many of the last battles of Vergil Ortiz JR against WBC interim junior middleweight champion Serhii Bohachuk, who fell into a clash with former WBA champion Isolal Madrimov at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 22. There is an unknown.
Ortiz-Madrimov is the best fight with loaded undercards. There are some great matchups, but this is Cream Delacreme on the card.
Vergil Jr. : Shell shock?
Ortiz Jr. (22-0, 21 Kos) was beaten in his own brawl game by the more powerful and technically skilled Bohachuk in the battle on August 10th, dropped twice, injured multiple times, and judged He was saved from a clear defeat by the members. Vergil Jr. truly lost that fight, but a Nevada judge gave him a majority decision victory of 12 rounds that night. The scores were 114-114, 114-112, and 114-112. I had a 9-3 for Bohachuk. It wasn’t nearby.
“Little GGG” Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOS) is more technically skilled and has good power than Bohachuk. But he doesn’t throw that many punches and is not so merciless. If Madrimov could adapt his style to the battle of Bohachuk, Vergil Ortiz Jr. would lose on February 22nd, and the judges wouldn’t save him this time. He gets knocked out. Madrimov hits too hard, and his shot finishes what Bohachuk started with his two knockdown performance against Bogill.
“When you don’t know the fighter, you are both very willed and you are very hesitant in the first round and try to feel each other,” Vergil Ortiz Jr. said. Dozen Boxingtalking about his battle with Islehr Madrimov on February 22nd.
“We sparred 12-20 rounds. We know each other well so I don’t think we’ll be hesitant in the first few rounds. So that’s going to be exciting from the start,” Virgil said. Junior continued his fight with Madrimov.
“In Sparring, Madrimov is a great fighter. It was very competitive. You might think we got the best from him, but they can say the same thing.” Verge Jr. trainer Robert Garcia spoke about Ortiz Jr. sparring with Madrimov.
Sparring is not comparable to victory
Ortiz Jr. and his trainer Robert Garcia should not have a false sense of security about past sparring with Madrimov, as it means nothing to their fight on February 22nd. Madrimov does not treat spark sessions as a chance to go to war or prove he is training.
Only unstable fighters do that. This is self-destruction as it moves away from focusing on developing technical skills. It also wears down fighter jets. You don’t want to go to war in training camps, so try to prove how good you are before the battle. If Vergil has such a mindset, he will not last long as a top-level fighter in the sport. He has already been severely punished in his final battle with former WBC interim junior middleweight champion Serhii Bohachuk.
“Everyone knows it’s going to be a tough battle, and you don’t even have to sell it,” Ortiz Jr. said. “This is one of the best boxing cards of all time. It’s fun to oppose these guys. There’s a WBC tentative (154 pound belt). So we can fight (Sebastian) Fundara . I don’t know if it’s next because the schedule needs to be lined up. Hopefully, Turki can do something about it,” Virgil Jr. said.
Vergil Jr. and Madrimov are trying to sell the fight as they are less talked about, despite being the second best matchup on the card behind the main event rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. It’s useful if you put in some effort. Madrimov has said nothing during the accumulation for this battle, and Virgil Jr. has said little.
