Canelo Alvarez believes Crawford’s undefeated streak should have ended against Madrimov

Canelo Alvarez says he believes Terrence Crawford is still an undefeated fighter after his final fight against former WBA junior middleweight champion Isleil Madrimov in Los Angeles on August 3rd last year on Torki Aralsiv’s Riyadh season card.

Alvarez says he is thinking of Crawford “Lost” tWill he fight, or it “draw,” This comes with what many boxing fans believe. Terence, 37, was awarded a narrow 12-round unanimous decision with scores 115-113, 116-112 and 115-112. However, ‘Little Ggg’ Madrimov landed harder and cleaner shots in every round of the fight, making Crawford better in exchange. Madrimov showed Terence his age, 40 fighters on his final legs.

Crawford “Lost”?

The powerful and technical Israil was free to hit Crawford with his right hand on the head. There were at least six or eight big right hands where Madrimov was hitting Crawford in every round of the fight. It should have been enough for Madrimov to win, but he could not have beaten these judges. They gave it to an aging Omaha from Nebraska, giving him a contaminated victory, and sending him to the Battle of Canelo under dark clouds.

“For me, I think he lost. He lost a fight or a draw. It might be on the other side, but I know why he has weight classes,” Canelo Alvarez said to speak boxing.

I agree with Canelo. Crawford lost that fight, and it was a bad thing to see him gifting the decision and Madrimov was taken away in this way by popular fighters. Madrimov, a visiting fighter, was given a raw deal.

Address doubts

Crawford should have done the right thing by admitting that he lost and that Madrimov had given him a rematch by now. He sat behind him ever since his controversial victory over Isler. He should have sat down the controversy and made himself useful, rather than sitting, waiting for Golden Parachute Retirement Payday against Alvarez in September.

Usually, that should lead to the disadvantaged Madrimov of the time winning the battle. The judges went with Bud Crawford, an A-side fighter who some fans felt was a priority treatment. I rewatched the battle today, with Madrimov winning 9-3. The only rounds Crawford seemed to win were 10, 11 and 12.

He lighted Crawford like a Christmas tree, repeatedly throwing his right hand straight out of the pipe with his right hand, whipping his head, so even the final round he might have gone to Madrimov.
