Canelo’s £175 million payday: Boxing’s wealthiest athlete combined Ronaldo, Neymar and Prescott

Canelo Alvarez is rewriting the sports wage scale. He does it easily. In 2025, the Mexican superstar will pocket 175 million pounds ($200 million) in just two fights, thanks to a four-time battle with Saudi Arabia’s public investment fund and a £320 million ($400 million) deal. If that sounds indecent, then that’s because it’s – and it cements Canelo as the finest athlete in the world, combining Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and even Duck Prescott.
