Chiefs’ Chris Jones explains emotional bursts of tears during the national anthem

“A simple story. I was watching the movie “300.” One of my favourite movies, just before they go to the fight, you cry because they’re so mad,” he said. “I’m actually going to go into that mind frame in the sense of playing football. I might not go home tonight. I know I’m going home, but I know I’m going to war. It’s It will be bloody. It will be physical.

“So, in the midst of the national anthem, I have to put myself in that mind frame.”
