Cincinnati – Cincinnati mayoral candidate denounced city leadership Monday afternoon Viral Downtown Beatdown It has been echoing around the country.

“People don’t even see the feeling of calling 911 anymore,” said Corey Bowman, who is a mayoral candidate and also Vice President J.D. Vance’s half-brother.

Bowman finished second in the partisan primary race in May. He will square with current Mayor Aftab Purebal in November. His thoughts about citizens who have no meaning when calling 911 came after police chief Teresa Tegge told a press conference that only those who called police while the attack was underway called police.

“That’s not acceptable to not call the police,” she said at a press conference Monday. “Traffic is scary. People saw this. They were fighting in front of the traffic. Why didn’t people call us?”

Bowman said he was not surprised by the early Saturday morning events that took place at the corner of Elm Street outside the city’s downtown business district, fourth and the corner of Elm Street, as police are handcuffed by current city leaders.

“It has two aspects,” Bowman told Fox News Digital. “The first is a wake-up call, a call for awakening to have better policies, and we must be able to take immediate action to ensure that our community residents and businesses are safe.

Despite the fact that the virus attacks could taint his city’s reputation, Bowman said it was important for the country to see what is actually happening in cities, and what happened in Cincinnati is a microcosm of what is happening in urban areas around the country.

“I think it’s important for the country to see it now, because we see the failed policies of several downtown America’s regions ruin their cities,” he said. “And you’re watching the riots, you’re watching the fight, you’re seeing the rise in crime, you’re seeing the laws that are not enforced.”

He told Fox News Digital that the crime in the city has not only skyrocketed over the summer months, but has overall increased over time, and it alleges that local governments and the media are rejecting it.

“Whenever May and June were rolling, there were these press conferences and all the press conferences, and all the statements from the media saying crime was declining,” he said.

“Well, the reality of that, anyone who lived downtown knew that snow, perhaps some things had been going long, because of the rain, but when the warmer months came, the policy would actually allow the city to be free that the laws were not enforced,” he continued.

Bowman says he has expressed concern with him about the inability of police officers to do his job, and he says Cincinnati Police Station (CPD) is a lack of staff in the first place.

“And what happens is that these officers don’t see the point where they actually book offenders, because there are actually prosecutors in cities that have the revolving door mindset where criminals are in them.

“And many of these officers don’t even book people because they know they’ll be back on the streets next week, so they’re going to sit in the car and try to do everything they can.
