Costco is about to open its first standalone gas station

If you’re not interested in cheap hot dogs and don’t need a pack of paper towels to fill the trunk of your car, Costco’s latest business venture could be featured in your alleys.

Retailers reportedly will launch it First Standalone Gasoline Station Mission Viejo, California – part of Orange County. The gas station, which takes over the space previously occupied by beds, baths and Beyond stores, is two miles away from the nearest Costco retailer, and it will become a Whopper.

With 40 pumps, that’s what it will do Costco The biggest gas station – and, like what’s part of the Costco A, pumps (and discounted prices) are only accessible to Costco members. It is also located just off the five expressways, one of the busiest roads in the country.

There are no convenience stores attached to the station, so don’t plan on eating or drinking a bit of drinks once it’s full. Construction is expected to begin this fall, and the facility should open in spring 2026.

Costco has not commented on where it will open for more than three months in the future.

Gasoline has become an increasingly valuable item for Costco. The retailer reported two best gallon sales weeks in the US in April after extending gas station hours and opening a new station earlier this year.

CEO Lombatis I said Extending gas station time in North America “is a great indicator of a successful improvement in member throughput, and we found it to increase quickly in gallons.”
