A federal judge ordered the Secretary of State on Friday Marco Rubiowho also serves as an acting archivist, collects signaling messages belonging to Trump officials who may be at risk of deletion, and also introduces them to the Department of Justice for further review.
Judge James Boasberg said his hands were tied beyond that and he couldn’t do anything about the signaling messages that had already been deleted.
Boasberg’s order comes in response to a watchdog group suing five Donald Trump’s cabinet members, including Rubio, after the Atlantic released a story revealing their signalling chat debating an imminent plan to launch an airstrike on Yemen’s Houtsis.
