Courtwa claims that Alexander Arnold is a “nightmare” for goalkeeper after showing off a strong Club World Cup
Thibaut Courtois praises his new teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, explaining that he has dealt with Real Madrid’s right-back as a “nightmare” and calling his intersection “unbelievable.”
England International, which recently switched from Liverpool, registered Madrid’s first assist with a 1-0 defeat of Juventus at the Club World Cup, with Gonzalo Garcia’s exquisite cross.
As a result, his new playing partner, Courtois in particular, praises the defender.
“He could have already provided some assists in the tournament,” Courtwa said of Alexander Arnold. “In training, his impressive stuff is incredibly impressive, his free kicks and corners are on a different level. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with an impressive cross between people who have his quality.”
Alexander Arnold joined Madrid just before the start of the tournament in the US, appearing in every match so far, moving in both his natural right-back role and midfield.
Kourtwa admitted that he is still adapted to playing behind such an adventurous fullback.

“As a goalkeeper, he’s a nightmare at times,” Kourtwa added. “He has to work hard to keep you on your toes and stop. He’s going to make us better.”
Real Madrid is scheduled to face Borussia Dortmund in the Club World Cup quarterfinals this Sunday in New Jersey. So far they have managed to avoid Palmeiras and Fulminence on the Brazilian side. Both remain in the competition.
When asked about the quality of the South American team, Kurdva dismissed doubts about their competitiveness.
“We know football, we don’t doubt their level. If you believe in the four tweeters who think the level is sh*t, you’re wrong,” he said.
“We know that Brazilian teams are good, and that’s not the best in Europe. That’s what it is, the level is high and it’s shown in every match.
Madrid also benefits from the emergence of 21-year-old Garcia, who stepped up in the presence of Killian Mbapeh.
“I didn’t expect him to score three goals in four games, but I knew he would work well,” said Xabi Alonso’s head coach. “I have confidence in him and he has earned that trust.”
