Crew rescues teens from California mining at 50 feet deep: See
Teenager was rescued from a California Mining Industry Authorities said after he and his friends decided to use home ropes to explore the cave.
The Placer County Fire Department responded to medical rescue on Feb. 10 with the help of the Auburn Fire Department, saying the 16-year-old was trapped in a vertical mine shaft nearly 50 feet deep.

Using a home rope, the three young men rappelled down the vertical shaft about 40-50 feet. However, on the way back, the rope broke, causing the third victim to descend about 30 feet to the bottom of the shaft.
Authorities said the victim tried to climb a way out of the shaft, but eventually ran out of strength and placed himself on the shelf while waiting for a rescuer.

Once rescuers arrived, they set up a lightweight yet complex rope system and established a system that monitors the air quality of the shaft.
The main rescuer from the team then dived into the victim’s location and secured him with a harness, and he was safely lifted off the shaft.

Once safe, the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
“The Placer County Fire Station rescue team is one of the busiest teams in Northern Province and was able to promote this technical rescue in a highly confined and harsh environment of 180 feet in the mountains,” the fire station said. It was mentioned in a press release. “This incident highlights the unique natural disasters that exist within us. Beautiful and sturdy landscape In Placer County.
