Sri Lanka’s 2002 Champions Trophy ended on its own as India and Host Nation have been declared co-winners. The sustained rain took place for the final wash for the second day in a row, resulting in both teams sharing the trophy.

2013: Winning victory
The UK’s 2013 Champions Trophy scored quite a high point for India. Under Ms Dhoni’s leadership, India dominated the tournament and won all matches. In the rain-affected final against the host country, India scored a thrilling five-run victory to secure the championship. Shikal Dhawan emerged as an outstanding performer, winning the “Golden Bat”, the most run in the tournament. This victory made Ms Dhoni the first captain to win all three major ICC trophies. The World Cup, World T20, and the Champions Trophy.
