De La Jolla uses Duarte’s KO to criticize Keyshaun Davis’ performance

Golden Boy promoter Oscar de La Hoya delved a bit of a subtle dig into Keyshawn Davis on Saturday night. Kos), Keyshaun couldn’t. It’s not that what the top ranks physically caused was unable to knock out Madueno.

De La Jolla came out right away and didn’t say that, but what he suggests is Duarte is a better fighter than Keyshaun. He stopped saying that, but that’s clearly what he meant when he pointed out that Duarte did better than Keyshaun. He’s right. Duarte performed far better against Maudeno than Davis.

Fear or strategy?

The strength was there for that fight, but there was no courage. After experiencing the power of Mexican fighters, Keyshaun looked scared to be a hit. So instead of trying a knockout, he turned the fight into a WWE-type match full of wrestling tactics. The referee allowed Keyshaun to use the tactics without disqualifying him. Last Friday, Keyshaun was still using the same tactics.

Davis won the WBO lightweight title last Friday night, steaming and low-rolling champion Dennis Belinchik in four rounds at Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City. Last July 6, Keyshaun ran for 10 rounds and defeated Madueno by unanimous decision.

Keyshaun seemed afraid to fight Madueno aggressively like he did against Belinchik as he could punch, and he was hit hard in the early rounds when he cried out . Davis appeared to have given up on this idea after the third round when he ate a big punch from Madueno.

“Keyshaun Davis couldn’t knock out Madueño. Oscar de la Jolla told Dazun after Oscar Duarte won the seventh knockout over Miguel Madueno last Saturday night.
