Yesterday, protesters prepared to descend to urban squares across America. Mass demonstration brand #nokingsCalifornia Lt. Colonel Eleni Kunarakis took him to MSNBC to praise the movement as the right position of democracy.
“People are very determined to come out there and be seen. This is the United States. We don’t want a king,” she said.
Asura Nomani: $2.1 billion machine behind the “voluntary” anti-Trump protest
What she didn’t say: California Democrats Organizing today’s protests from Orange County to Oakland is the full organisational weight of the democratic machinery, with the Democratic National Committee playing a key behind the scenes in protests across the nation, from California to Florida.
Already, me It is established in the analysis For the Pearl Project, a non-profit journalism initiative, the protests are organized by 197 organizations that are consistent with the Democrats. The network utilizes approximately $2.1 billion in total annual revenues for this cause. That effort alone represents a partisan political enterprise that I call the protest industrial complex.

It is expected that thousands of people from across America will gather on Saturday to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday in hundreds of cities across the United States, protesting the Trump administration and countering the Washington, D.C. presidential military parade. In a new analysis of 148 protest lists now uploaded to Mobilize.us, the Democratic organization’s platform, I have established that at least 70 Democratic National Committee affiliates organize protests in at least 21 states and the District of Columbia. This is a clear indicator of the partisanship of these protests as organized and calculated expressions of the opposition rather than voluntary grassroots infiltrating them.
Despite the rhetoric of populist uprisings, that is clear. #Nokings is a Democrat who stages political theatres in American cities.
As editor-in-chief of the Pearl Project, I built this database of protest organizers last week, and the findings revealed the true architecture of today’s “Day of Defiance.” From mobilizing links and protest pages to organizing toolkits, we tracked the digital and physical infrastructure behind the June 14th demonstration.

Protesters held various indications such as “Power of People” and “No King Snow Royalties” at the democratic rally at Hancock Adams’ Common on April 19, 2025. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concorde, it depicts the parallels between innovative wars and resistance and modern political interests. Here’s what I found about the Democrats’ hands:
- At least 70 unique Democratic committees and clubs host at least 140 protest events nationwide in at least 21 states and the District of Columbia.
- The Democratic club has organized protests in at least four countries: Australia, Italy, Mexico and Norway, with groups such as “Democrats from Norway Overseas.”
It’s important to recognize it. Democrats aren’t just supporting these protests. They often lead them under the radar.

What does this list tell you? This is not a protest movement, it is a party infrastructure. Be honest: this is not to stop the “king.” It’s about protecting political parties.
All over the country, the Democratic chapter has flooded local organising channels with brand water bottles with official brand flyers, overhang points and tailored slogans with county logos. In Santa Monica, California, local democratic clubs march along the boardwalk.
In Flagstaff, Arizona, the Coconino County Democrats gather city hall stairs. In Naples, Florida, the Collier County Democratic Executive Committee is mobilizing volunteers with signs that have been approved in advance by the National Committee on Political Action.
Democrats build strange bed fellows as party flounder in Trump’s second term
In Seminole County, Florida, the ads are about political canvas along with these details for volunteers. To collect second hand bottles, take part in the protest on the streets where you have the cooler handle. ”

In total, we proved that multiple organizations, including groups such as Swing Left and Indivisible, are active in several states with Democrats, scripts, signs and staffing, tracking scores for unique combinations of states and clubs.
Here’s what I haven’t heard in most media reports:
- At Apache Junction, Arizona, Pinal County Democrats are working with local inseparable chapters for the brand’s “No Kings” march with printed material calling Trump “tyrant.”
- In Oakland, California, East Bay, inseparable from the East Bay Democrats, is co-hosting a rally encouraged to “draw the town” with pre-approved chalk messages distributed to the booth.
- In Pensacola, Florida, the Escambia Democrats arranged a voter registration drive under the #Nokings banner, blurring the line between citizen protest and campaigning.
These are not voluntary actions of private citizens. They are events approved by the Democrats, decorated with words of moral resistance.

These protests amount to a new chapter in a political puppet show. Longtime democratic volunteers who gave anonymity explained to us the internal pressure they felt to participate.
This comment is reported. Democrats have not appeared in these protests as supporters. They are stage managers. Those who warn us from authoritarianism are unfolding to reflect on liberal tactics. It is the highest political irony, not below, but activism from above.
Why is this important? In 2002, my friend and colleague Daniel Pearl was murdered by extremists in Pakistani. The ideology that led to his death – sectarianism, division, moral absolutism – has been haunting me ever since. That same doctrine is currently being played on American streets and is covered in slogans such as “King” and “Save Democracy.”

In my 2023 book, Woke Army, I warned about an unholy alliance between extremists on the left and right and ideological opportunists that undermine the institutions from within. Today’s protests make this alliance clear, and they are the logical next steps. They challenged it was designed to affect the next election cycle rather than organic resistance.
This is not about Donald Trump’s flaws or strengths. It is about weaponizing protests by people already in power.
Today’s protest is not a revolution. This is a message that rejects the 2024 election results. Here’s the message: Democrats are willing to use all the tools available, including PACs, nonprofits, public labor unions, and even street protests, to control the narrative heading for the next election.
Voters need to be vigilant with those who call “democracy.”

Ask yourself today when you see a Marcher video clip chanting and waving a sign: Who paid for the microphone? Who printed the sign? And who will benefit when the crowd breaks up? The answer is clear at the Army Trump birthday party. It is an expression of a ruling Republican administration.
That’s the kind of transparency we need about street protests. Protest is not grassroots. They are the political puppets of the Democratic Party.
