Devin Haney stands up against the “Gansy” tag before Brian Norman Jr.
Devin Haney says no matter how he played in his final battle with Jose Ramirez in the Times Square Card last May, critics would destroy him. Haney (32-0, 15 Kos), people were not going to find anything to criticize him for how he fought.
The Battle of Ramirez: “Gansie” Haney?
Haney threw few punches in the fight, and neither did Ramirez. He didn’t have to move as much as he did, but he seemed worried about being caught.
Fans said former two-division world champion Haney appeared in the layoffs in the first year, with “Gunshy” appearing and appears to be beaten with Ryan Garcia. They believe they are reluctant to throw punches as a sign of mental damage.
He was dropped three times by Kingley in the battle last April, and three more times when the judges did not count. It was a battle that many fans felt they should have stopped.
Norman Jr.’s battle awaits
Haney will face the biggest puncher of welterweight, WBO champion Brian Norman Jr., held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 22nd. Devin’s fight is a fight that he can’t afford to hesitate to throw. Because if he doesn’t have his hands on it, Norman Jr. will talk to him to get a knockout.
“They’re going to say something regardless,” Devin Haney said to ring the magazine. xfans responded to what he was told he believed he was a “gun” in his battle with Jose Ramirez last May. “If I go there and get hit with lots of left hooks, they’ll say, ‘He’s learned nothing. He’s getting hit with the same punch.’ ”
It’s awkward that Haney couldn’t openly admit that he was worried about being cut off and didn’t feel confident in his chin so he could take a shot from 33-year-old Jose Ramirez.
“If I went there and got hit with all the right hands, they would say, ‘Now, he’s the sucker on the right hand.’ So they’re going to say something regardless of that,” Haney said.
“I want to be the best me. On November 22nd, I want to be the best Devin Haney possible. I want to go there and become the three division champion and get another victory,” Devin said.
