I remember Dilip Dosi, the legendary Indian cricket
Doshi’s international career was a testament to patience. He rebelled against the traditional timeline and made his Test debut in 1979 at the experienced age of 32. Despite this slow start, he represented India in 33 tests until 1983 in 15 days of internationals, culminating masters of subtle variations and pinpoint accuracy. His effectiveness is particularly evident in the home soil, with him securing an impressive 100 wickets in his first 28 games. One of his most iconic displays took place in 1981 at the Cricket Ground in Melbourne. There, he managed to get over the pain of broken toes and achieved five wicket hauling of heroes that would help defend India’s modest total.
