Doge reportedly plans a hackathon to build a “mega API” for IRS data

Elon Musk’s Government Efficiency Bureau (Doge)plan We’ll be holding a hackathon next week According to Wired, the focus is on creating a “Mega API” that provides access to taxpayer data.

According to Wired, Hackathon is organized by two Doge staff members, Gavin Kliger and Sam Corcos, who are also CEOs at HealthTech Startup. Corcos reportedly told others in Doge that his goal is to “build one new API to control all of them.”

This allows cloud providers to easily access IRS data such as taxpayer names, addresses, social security numbers, tax returns and employment information. All of these can be exported to an external system. According to Wired, third-party party vendors managed some of the projects, and Palantir grew up “consistently” as a candidate.

“Essentially, any of the rules that protect that data are usually open doors controlled by musks for the most sensitive information of all Americans,” an anonymous IRS worker reportedly told Wired.
