Dolphin cornerback Cadelkoho heading into the season with knee injury
Miami Dolphins starting cornerback Caddar Koho misses the entire 2025-26 season After suffering a knee injury during team practice last Saturday, according to ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques.
kohou is the second member of Miami’s secondary, who has suffered a season-ending injury in the past seven days. Last week, cornerback Artie Burns was ruled out in the 2025-26 campaign after toreting the ACL. Also, Safety Ashtin Davis “misses time” Due to injury to the legs that are not in contact.
“I saw him go to another level (this offseason),” said coach Mike McDaniel. “That timing – I was crushed until I spoke to Kader. Honestly, Kader felt a little better by his way of thinking. Whenever things happen, we don’t know. Kader’s thinking is triggered like that, and “this is difficult, but I guarantee I’ll come back better,” he said. That’s how you approach both soccer and the game of life. ”
Kader Kohou joined the Miami Dolphins in 2022 as an undrafted free agent. Since joining the NFL, he has appeared in 47 games. Last season was undoubtedly the best after Xiaohou recorded two intercepts, eight deflections and forced fumbles in nine starts.
Dolphin’s secondary is screwed
Kohou’s injuries will lead Dolphins to open the 2025-26 season without a secondary starter from last year. They traded Jalen Ramsey for Steelers, let Jevon Holland walk at his free agency, and released Kendall Fuller. Meanwhile, Jordan Poyer remains signed as a free agent.
I have never seen a team completely broken in this all-main defensive back position. First, they lost Artie Burns, who was signed to a one-year contract this offseason. Perhaps he was competing for one of the starting cornerback spots. Well, kohou is gone too. That means Mike Hilton, signed by Dolphins two days ago, will likely be the starting cornerback for the team. Ashtyn Davis is expected to miss out for a while (whatever it is), Rookie Fifth-Rounder Dante Trader Jr. will likely have to become a starter in his absence. I don’t think that was his plan when he was originally drafted.
From a defensive back perspective, this was a disastrous offseason for Miami. They removed their clear best cornerbacks for the safety of their top flights at Minka Fitzpatrick. He is a Pro Bowl Caliver player, but having a good cornerback is more valuable to a defensive game plan than having elite safety. A top-class cornerback may eliminate the entire field if he is good enough. When it comes to safety, that’s hardly the case.
Dolphins fans should be very concerned about the defensive capabilities of the teams entering this season. Without Tua Tagovailoa, one of the biggest reasons he was able to remain competitive last year was for defense, making him ninth in passing yards allowed and rushing yards. But this season, we hope they will give up more yards, especially through the air.
It is also worth noting that the “Finns” were one of the worst teams in the league when it ended up enforcing a turnover. They were 27th in takeaways and 22nd in intercepts. This recent injury will make intercepting even more difficult by this season in South Florida.
Mike McDaniel must wear a coaching masterclass if he wants a team to return to the playoffs for the first time since January 2024. McDaniel has had a lot of issues with the ball’s defense during the 2025-26 campaign, so he’ll have to plan some impressive offensive play calls to keep Miami competitive.
