Dunkin’s ads spark social media backlash over actor’s “genetics” comments


New Dunkin’ Donuts ads make social media people furious about “genetics” Second time this week.

The Breakfast Food Franchise released a short location for a new summer refresher drink on Tuesday. During the 35-second ad, the actor praised his summer tan for his “genetics.”

In the ad, Casa Legño sat near the swimming pool with him Dunking Golden Hour Refresher Drinks call his pop culture status “The King of Summer” along with the sunburn.

“Look, I didn’t ask you to be the king of summer. It just happened a bit,” he said. “This tan? Genetics. I just got my analysis of my colour back. What do you think is? Golden Summer. Literally.”

Tiktok users had problems with Casaregno, hammering a place on the platform and mentioning his genetics.

Another wrote, “What is the word ADS and GeneTics RN?” The comment received over 40,000 likes.

A user named “Haven” asked, “I’m doing something about genes and genetics.”

“I will never wear Dunkin’ Donuts again,” one person declared, while another said, “I think Dunkin’s just joined Starbucks and the boycott list.”

Many of the comments mentioned the recent American Eagle advertising campaign featuring the actress Sydney Sweeney It sparked controversy among social and traditional media over the weekend with the catchphrase “Great Jeans for Sydney Sweeney.”

The double meaning of the line about both the actress’s pants and appearance – the latter inherited from her parents – had liberal critics who questioned whether American Eagles promoted “whiteness” or “eugenics.”

On ABC’s “GMA First Look,” the show featured a clip from Professor Robin Landa at Keene University, linking Sweeney’s “Good Jeans” to the eugenics movement.

“Punny Jeans” revitalize the country’s troubling historical associations. Between 1900 and 1940, the American Eugenic movement weaponized the ideas of good genes just to justify white supremacy,” she said.
