England boss Thomas Tuschel admits Andorra Display is “not enough”

England boss Thomas Tuschel hit his players after a 1-0 victory with Andorra, questioning his attitude at the latter stage.

England won three World Cup Qualifying Group K thanks to a goal from Harry Kane in the second half, but it was a substandard display from the three Lions ranked 173rd in the world.

Home goalkeeper Iker Alvarez made a routine save that only lasts a second half block to deny Ebeki Eze’s standout as the British lack of invention was exposed at Barcelona’s RCDE Stadium.

The lazy ending of England bothers Chuchel

Tuchel, who created the breakthrough, expected England to take control, but instead appeared to be experiencing a move he knew Andorra had no quality to fight back.

The German told ITV Sports: “I’m not happy with the performance. I think I started off well in the first 20 or 25 minutes. I created a lot of opportunities and half of the chances. I lost all momentum and couldn’t get back a little bit of the first half.

“I was most worried about the last 20 minutes because I didn’t like the attitude we ended the game. I didn’t like the lack of urgency and it didn’t match this opportunity. It’s still World Cup Qualifiers.

Kane also gives an evaluation of the downbeats of the England exhibit, hoping to be more friendly and better with Senegal in Nottingham.

The Bayern Munich striker said:

“We certainly need to get better. June is not an easy camp, people can come after a long season. Tuesdays are friendly. You can learn again.

Maduce stands out

The only England player to strengthen his World Cup claim was Chelsea Winger Noni Madueke, who achieved his goals and provided a constant threat to the flanks.

Tuchel said:

With the victory and the victory over Latvia and Albania that came before him, Tuchel did not acknowledge and became the first England manager to take charge of the first three games, Maduke immediately spoke a positive story.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live:

“We won the game today, although not as everyone expected in terms of scoreline.

“My job is to create and acquire goals, and I am happy because I was able to create them today.

“He (Tuchel) is very intense. He’s very clear in what he wants. He has high standards. He doesn’t allow anyone to fall under them. It’s a coach that benefits England.

“We’re not stupid. We know that the scoreline isn’t what we wanted. We thought there was a good part in performance. It’s not all fate and darkness.
