Estevao shows Chelsea fans what will come as Palmeiras and Porto share points at the Club World Cup

Estebao Willian quickly gave a glimpse of the incredible talent that captivated Stamford Bridge as Palmeiras shared a goalless draw with Porto in the opening match of the Club World Cup last night.

Estebao, 18, who will be joining Chelsea after the tournament, won the Player Award for the match with a sparkling display that was supposed to be rewarded with three points on his side.

Palmeiras on the Brazilian side had a better chance at Estebao – said to be the best Brazilian outlook since Neymar – well-known.

However, they couldn’t find a way past Porto goalkeeper Claudio Ramos, but they thought Muriro managed it with a slow header that came back from the post.

“We played a good game that got a lot of volume and passed the exchange, but we were inefficient in the finish,” Estebao said. “We couldn’t score a goal. Now we have to improve and get results in the next game.”

Palmeiras supporters bring noise

Palmeiras fans rocked Times Square earlier in the day, making a similar impact on MetLife Stadium, home to the NFL teams New York Giants and New York Jets.

“The fans were basic,” Estebao added. “The parties they wore were amazing. They are our 12th player. They were fundamental to us. Now we’re going to win the next game and bring happiness to them.”

The next Palmeiras will meet with Al Ali on the Egyptian side on Thursday.

“They are organized,” Estebao said. “They use a lot of transitions. They’re really a strong team. Now we analyze them and study to perform well against them.”

Midfielder Paulinho was also wary of Al-Arie, who portrayed a goalless draw between Lionel Messi and Intermiami in the opening night.

He said: “We’ve seen a bit of them. They’re a team that produces a lot of people and gets attacks quickly. They’ve given Intermiami a lot of problems. There’s no easy opponent in the big competition. It’s another difficult game, but we have to get a victory.”

Messi and Intermiami next for Porto

Porto enjoys the opportunity to face Intermiami and midfielder Alain Barrera and face compatriot Messi.

He told FIFA.com:

“I watched the Miami and Al Aly match. They found themselves as two very tough opponents with a lot of strength. Inter has the best players in the world, so they’re trying to play and fight to the end, just like they do today, just as they demanded by the club.”
