Family blames MRI technician for a fatal accident involving metal chains

Family Long Island Man Those who tragically died in an abnormal accident related to an MRI claim that the technician is negligent due to the death of a loved one.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Nassau Open MRI in Westbury. There, 61-year-old Keith McAllister was stranded for nearly an hour before being drawn into the machine by his powerful magnetism.
McAllister was accompanied by his wife, Adrian Jones McAllister.
According to her daughter Samantha Bodden, the MRI technician left the room during the procedure to help her wife, but failed to warn her about the dangers of wearing metal near the machine.

Bodden also spoke to media reports suggesting that McAllister was not supposed to be in the room. Make the engineer clear He was invited.
“Some news stations say he wasn’t actually allowed to be in the room.
In a post from GoFundMe, which was established to raise funds for funeral expenses, Bodden writes that the magnetic field immediately attracted him for the chain he was wearing.
She detailed that both her mother and the technician tried to free McAllister before seeking help from the police.
The dentist previously was on probation before treating a 9-year-old girl who died after anesthesia.

“My mother and technology tried to release him for a few minutes before the police were called,” Bodden wrote. “He was attached to the machine for almost an hour before he could release the chain from the machine.”
Jones McAllister detailed her final moments with her husband in an interview shared by The Big Weekend Show.
“I said, ‘Are you going to turn off the machine, call 9-1-1, do something, turn off this damn thing?” I just, I’m still trying to wrap my head around my whole thing.

The Nassau County Police Department said an investigation is ongoing.
Nassau Open MRI said Fox News had no comment Monday morning.
MRI machines create a strong magnetic field that can attract and heat metal objects, causing serious danger.

Nassau Open MRI says on its website that metallics should be removed prior to MRI, including hearing aids, partial plates, dentures, gemstones and hairpins.
On a web page detailing the benefits and risks of MRI, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states, “Strong, static magnetic fields attract magnetic objects (from small items such as keys and mobile phones to large, heavy items such as oxygen tanks and floor buffers).
The FDA also notes that “adverse events” associated with MRI scans are “very rare.”

Kenneth J. Perry, a medical emergency physician in Charleston, South Carolina, told Fox News Digital the best way to prevent these types of accidents is to implement “robust MRI protocols.”
