Fatal fury is a future boxing landscape: Theofimo Lopez faces tough Barboza Jr., Garcia and Honey navigate what’s important on May 2nd
WBO Light Welterweight Champion Theo Fimolopez is confident he is playing his part by defeating Arnold Barboza Jr. in the tournament battle on the 18-day May 2nd fatal fury card. I live in Dazen PPV at Tides Square in New York City.
Teofimo (21-1, 13 KOS) says he doesn’t care who won the other two fights on the May 2nd card as he is focused on getting over the difficult match against WBO’s forced Barboza Jr. (32-0, 11 Kos).
Barboza Jr. has been looking good these days and will be a problem for Theo as he drives Jacques Cantal and Jose Ramirez into his obligatory position in back-to-back battles. He fights at a higher level than Lopez and appears to be mentally strong.
Battle of May 2nd
- Ryan Garcia vs. Roland “Rolly” Romero
- Devin Haney vs. Jose Ramirez
- Teofimo Lopez vs. Arnold Barboza Jr.
Saudi Arabia’s plans
“Everyone has to do the job, everyone has to win. The best thing is to fight. It’s like a tournament, and we see each other. The best fight. Ring Magazine About him fighting Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney.
Teofimo did not mention that Ryan and Devin need to win their respective battles on May 2nd. If one or both lose on May 2nd, their rematch will fall into smoke in October. They can still fight later, but that may not be the funding from Saudi Arabia.
“I don’t care. As long as I’m there next year, that’s important to me,” Lopez was asked who would prefer to fight between Ryan and Haney in 2026. “They are still moving to 147.
Haney and Kingley are on a good start with Lopez as they rehydrate a ton of weight for the 140-year battle. It will be interesting to see how well he endures when Teo enters with the winner or loser of the October rematch. Both are difficult to do.
“So, everyone at 147 years old should be careful. Theofimo is coming to conquer the 147-pound division. Anyone who won Ryan and Haney has put it in front of me. I will beat them.
Loser’s Bracket
Lopez could fall apart before he was 147 in a May 2nd collision with Barboza Jr. One of these two will face Lopez, essentially with their careers on the line.
“We’re going to make boxing great again, and we’re going to start on May 2nd. I think it’s going to be something to see if this fight will be 12. I live in DazenLopez spoke about his battle with Barboza Jr. at Times Square next month.
“If Crawford can do it and no one gives him the *** to do it, I can do it. “I’m talking about the difference between one or two weight classes. There’s a lot of room to take every belt. There’s not much noise on the 154. There’s no inherently some noise on the 147,” Lopez said.
