Fire Rescue: Passing drivers help save older women from burning cars

The two “pass drivers” helped police officers save an elderly woman trapped in a burning car. Clash in Chester, New York; Approximately an hour from outside New York City.
Chester police have been dispatched On Sunday, around 4am, we had a rollover crash scene on King’s Highway.
“While they responded, an update was given that operators were trapped in the vehicle and the vehicle was on fire,” police wrote in a Facebook post Monday. “Officer Nicholas Contino was the first police officer to arrive at the scene. He handed over the fire extinguisher to a driver passing by and worked to find the vehicle operator.”
Video footage of police responses posted on Facebook can be seen immediately as one of the great Samaritan drivers extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher.

Contino broke through the glass sunroof and pulled the driver out of the engulfed vehicle. A good Samaritan can see officers helping women safe after leaving the fiery vehicle.

“With the help of two pass drivers and Empress EMS paramedics, she left the vehicle and off the fire,” Chester PD said. “The vehicle operator has been identified as a 68-year-old female resident of Warwick, New York.”
The victim suffered third-degree burns and was transported to a local hospital where he remained stable.
