Following the call of England, we are “very proud” of the inspirational Lewis Skelly.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes Miles Lewis Skelly’s quick rise has become more noticeable.

Lewis Skelly made his first team debut in September, just six months later Today we called out to the senior England teams for World Cup qualifying against Albania and Latvia.

The 18-year-old has placed his left-back position in a series of impressive performances for the Emirates, and Arteta was pleased that his progress was recognized.

He states: “We’re all really, really happy because it’s a really nice story, a story that gives a lot of hope to many young players, and in six or seven months your career can change dramatically. So it’s something that people are inspired. I don’t think it happened because he was lucky. I think he pushed forward the way he did it, looking for every opportunity.

“I’m so proud of him. It’s a huge moment for him and the club. One of the graduates is calling for the UK. It’s a massive, massive thing. I’m so happy.”

Don’t compare Arteta with Lewis Skelly and Nuwaneri

Another Arsenal teenager, Ethan Nuwaneri, was also expected to be called, but he missed this time and was named instead under the age of 21.

Arteta is sure the time will come for Nuwaneri, but he argued that it is important for him and Lewis Skelly to make progress individually.

He added: I think they obviously have a very similar path. Obviously they played together for years, but then they have different moments, each career is unique and personal to them, and they need to be completely independent as they need to gain it and not reflect or influence others in a positive or negative way.

“It’s great, it’s a luxury to have someone you spend time next to you on that journey, trust and love.

Chelsea’s game will be difficult, Boss Arteta says

Arsenal faces Chelsea on Sunday, building mid-week progress in the Champions League and is about to claim their first Premier League victory in a month.

Arteta knows it’s not easy on the side of Enzo Maresca.

He states: “I think two teams who want to be very dominant in the way they play are very offensive in the way they want to have the high press and the way they want to have the ball. There are a lot of individual qualities on that pitch, so it’s about imposing what you want and the direction you want to take the game and keeping them very far from their strengths. I think that’s going to be important too.”

Arsenal won the corresponding fixture 5-0 last season, but Arteta doesn’t expect repeating it.

“I think it’s going to be a very different game,” he said. “I think the way they developed as a team is what they did with the coaching staff and the amount of talent they have in the team. Yes, it’s a really tough match.”
