Former NBA Stargilbert Arena charged with suspected gambling ring manipulation

The Justice Department accused the former basketball star of running illegal gambling rings from a home he owned in Southern California.

According to the Department of Justice, the arena, known as “Agent Zero,” is suspected of renting an estate in Encino, California with the aim of hosting a poker game in Encino, California.

A federal complaint has been filed Los Angeles. Documents say the arena has been accused of instructing Arthur Cats to stage an illegal game. Kats is said to have processed rental payments for other individuals who were also thought to have played a role in the business. Officials said they had obtained a text message believed to show a conversation between the arena and the cat about details of the game in question.

One of the defendants, Ievgen Krachun, was identified as the person who oversaw the gambling as allegedly committed at home, according to the charges. Another defendant, Yevgeni Gershman, was described by the DOJ as “a suspect in organized crime from Israel.”

Court documents did not name the arena or other lawyers for the defendant as of Wednesday. The co-defendant has been accused of receiving money from the prize money from the DOJ investigator and recruiting women to “provide drinks, massages and dating.”

Investigators say a portion of the women’s proceeds were collected by players after the service was allegedly provided.

The home arena owned was attacked in July 2022. US Department of Homeland Security Investigators seized the money during the search. The Arena responded by submitting a petition to the US Customs and Border Patrol.

Arena was last seen in the NBA game during the 2011-12 season with the Memphis Grizzlies. He spent most of his professional basketball career. Washington Wizard. In recent years, Arenas has been best known for hosting the “Gil’s Arena” podcast.

No lawyers were listed in court documents.
