Galatasaray Smash Turkish Transfer Record Signs Victor Osimhen in Naples
Galatasaray has destroyed Turkish transfer records and completed the permanent signing of striker Victor Osimen on a long-term contract with Napoli.
The Super Rig Champion signed a contract with the 26-year-old Serie A club for 75 million euros (£65.36 million) and broke the previous Turkish record set by Fenerbahce, who won Youssef en-Nesyri service from Sevila last summer.
Nigeria International, who loaned out last season at Galatasaray and became the highest scorer in a singles season in Turkey with 37 goals, has a four-year contract.
As part of the agreement, Galatasaray confirmed that 10% of the future fees from Osimhen’s next transfer will be paid to Napoli.
Unusually, the club also revealed exactly how much Osimen is paid. A statement on the club’s website states, “According to the contract, players will receive a net guaranteed salary of 15 million euros (£13 million) per season (£13 million), 1 million euros (£860,000) per season and a net royalty bonus of 5 million euros (£4.3 million) per season.”
Galatasaray’s vice president, Abdullah Kabuku, also claimed that Osimhen had chosen to sign the club despite receiving an offer to “not give up on other players.”
Kavukcu told Turkish media on Friday:
“Thank God. We signed Victor without paying debt for our future. This is an incredible source of pride for all of us. On the contrary, we have registered Victor’s contract as capital for the financial resources of Galatasaray.
“Think about it. It’s hard to describe, but the amount Victor gave up to get here is really huge.
