Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy’s dog likely died of dehydration and starvation
Jean Hackman And the dog of Betsy Arakawa Hackman could have died of dehydration and hunger, according to a report obtained by Associated Press.
A report released by the Santa Fe County Animal Control Department said partial mummification of animals may have obscured organ changes, but there is no evidence of poisoning, infection or trauma, and could lead to death.
The report also specified that the dog’s stomach was empty and only a small amount of hair and bile were found.

Jinna, one of the couple’s three dogs, was found on February 26th when the bodies of Hackman and Arakawa were found at their Santa Fe home.
