Germany lifts limits on the range of Ukrainian weapons, allowing strikes against Russia
Germany’s new prime minister, Friedrich Merz, says his country and its allies have lifted restrictions on all the range of weapons delivered to Ukraine.
It appears that Merz tried to maintain his diplomatic efforts to maintain Western support for Ukraine and secure a ceasefire.
“We will do everything in our power to continue to support Ukraine, which also means that the range limits are not gone out of reach for the weapons we supply. Ukraine They can also protect themselves by attacking Russia’s military position,” he posted on social media platform X.

In an accompanying statement on Monday, Mertz said restrictions on the range of weapons delivered to Ukraine include the UK, France and the US.
“In other words, Ukraine can defend itself by attacking Russia’s military status, for example,” Meltz said in a forum hosted by WDR Public Television. “Until a while ago, I couldn’t do it… I can’t do it now.”
“We call this “Long-distance fire” In technical terms, it supplies Ukraine with weapons to attack military targets in the hinterland,” he added.

Last week, Merz called on Germany to defend democracy amidst the conflict and strengthen its constitutional state.
“The Fundamental Law allows us to live in freedom, peace and security. But we are proud of it. But our freedom is being attacked more than ever before, both inside and outside. Therefore, we must stand up to a strong constitutional state and defend democracy every day,” he posted.
Merz’s statement comes after Moscow hit Ukraine with more than 300 missiles and drones.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned in the statement that lifting restrictions on the statement was dangerous, saying “contrary to efforts to reach a political reconciliation.”
Moscow warned The West claims that in order not to lift restrictions, criminals will become targets of the Kremlin and face a nuclear weapons threat.
