Ghosts of the Past: Can Daniel Dubois expel the demon against Olexandre Usaik, or will history repeat itself on July 19th?

The Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2 Rematch is 13 days away and there is a total lack of hype from fans in the July 19 heavyweight uncontroversial championship clash at Wembley Stadium.

Would you like to stop DuBois again?

USYK’s decisive victory at Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) two years ago makes it difficult for fans to see another outcome. DuBois quit in that fight and in another contest in 2020 he did it before.

Using low-brow controversy as a promotional tool to generate interest in rematches was a complete failure. Fans are not sympathetic to this argument and don’t buy it for rhetoric. It’s a cheap excuse for DuBois and those who follow him to chase him and follow him to hide from the truth of why he lost.

One of the big issues with the Usyk-Dubois 2 events is the undercard. Much worse than some of the other events being shown dazn ppv. The asking price, $59.99 in the US and £24.99 in the UK, is too high for what the event has to offer. This is essentially the USYK vs Dubois 2 main event.

An unnecessary rematch of usyk-dubois?

Even that fight is considered unnecessary given Usaku’s dominant performance in Daniel’s ninth round knockout in 2023. DuBois has not done enough to generate more interest in his second clash with Usak since that loss.

Dubois hasn’t beat anyone since losing to Usak. His victory opposes the washes of Anthony Joshua, Jarrell Miller and Philip Fulgovic. The best of that bundle was hrgovic, an unproven fighter who filled his resume filled with lower-ranked fighters. He was steered into that position by his promoter without being given one proper test.
